ropean Participation in the international Trillion Parameter Consortium for HPC-AI The Trillion Parameter Consortium (TPC) launched in 2023 promotes open, collaborative research on the development of large language models (LLMs) for science, which are expected to significantly impact scientific research, industrial applications, and public services in the years ahead. The TPC’s ambition is to build openly available LLMs that rival the largest private ones, through a coordinated, community-driven effort involving partners around the world. European partners have contributed to the TPC since its inception, and the EuroTPC project will further strengthen EU collaboration within the initiative by establishing a TPC Office in Europe. This office will serve as a central point of contact, and coordinate EU participation in the consortium. EuroTPC will also establish Advisory Boards of experts from EU AI Factories and EuroHPC centres to ensure alignment, increase synergies and provide strategic guidance.
